Sunday morning always has Eastern market buzzing with balloons and babies galore. Le Pain Quotidien looked packed, but the two of us managed to find seating by the window without any hassle. A latte and tea was ordered, along with a yoghurt+granola, almond pastry and a Belgian waffle. Everything was great until a moldy raspberry was discovered on the waffle. To my surprise, no real apology ensued from waitress or staff. Perhaps it was an honest oversight, or perhaps this happens frequently and is no big deal to staff? Either way, I will only be ordering a latte and toast with praline spread next time to be on the safe side. The cafe and its location are too convenient to pass up for another breakfast date at Eastern market.
